Artist JGH Paintings

Representative Works from JGH

This section presents a selection of images of paintings by Artist JGH which are representative of his painting style.  Please use the navigation buttons at the left or the links below to view the individual painting medium folios.  These paintings will change from time to time to reflect the latest of John’s artwork.

JGH paints in three mediums: Acrylics, Oils, and Transparent Watermedia.  Only professional grade artist materials are used by JGH, thus guaranteeing the collector of these fine art paintings the finest archival characteristics and highest density of pigments available for the art investment.  Beginning May, 2007, JGH uses M. Graham walnut oil paints exclusively for oil paintings. These oil paints are heavily pigmented and are made using walnut oil for the pigment vehicle. For acrylic paintings, acrylic paints from M. Graham and Chroma’s Atelier Interactive are used.  The supports or grounds for these fine art paintings varies with the art medium.  For Oils and Acrylics, stretched canvas is always used for the paintings 16” X 20” or larger. Smaller Oil and Acrylic Paintings may be on either stretched canvas or canvas panel.  Transparent or translucent watermedia are on Arches, 100% cotton rag watercolor paper or watercolor canvas. The paper finish used may be either cold-pressed (most common) or hot-pressed.

High-quality frames to present your fine art selection are personally selected by the Artist. In most cases, the art work is also available without frame, by request. All transparent watermedia paintings are either matted or double-matted before framing. Transparent Watermedia paintings on paper are framed under glass, up to 16” X 20” frame size. Clear acrylic glazing is used for very large transparent watermedia paintings. Transparent Watermedia paintings on watercolor canvas can be framed in the manner of normal oil paintings without glass or clear acrylic glazing.

Please note, the images presented on this web site are low resolution digital images of the original fine art paintings by Artist JGH and are intended to be approximate representations only of the original art pieces depicted.  The limitations of web graphics prevent any high resolution images.  True representation of these pieces of fine art can only be seen viewing the original paintings.
